Belted Kingfisher
Scientific: Ceryle alcyon
Norwegian: Belte isfugl
The Belted Kingfisher in the top photo is female, the male looks just like the female but only has the blue-gray band on the breast, the femala has the blue-gray and a chestnut band. They are 13 inches and migrate. Occasionally you will see them during the winter near open streams. They next in clay bank burrows and eat fish and crayfish. It seems like they are patrolling the shorelines.
