Chimney Swift

Scientific: Chaetura pelagica
Norwegian: Skorsteinsseiler

Chimney swift are very small (5-6”) and are seen airborne or clinging to vertical walls. They reside here in the summer and create a half-saucer nest in chimneys 20’ below top, hollow trees, or in caves. They eat insects over water, and from forests and fields.
