Eastern Screech Owl
Scientific: Otus asio
Norwegian: Lundugle
The Eastern Screen Owl is small, only 7-9 inches and can be either a graying or reddish/brown color. They live in woodlands and forest edges and urban habitats. They live around Spring Grove all year and nest in tree cavities. The male is much smaller than the female, but his voice is deeper. They often are monogamous and remain together for life. They eat the most varied diet of any owl: insects and small mammals.
