Great Horned Owl

The Great Horned Owl is 18-25 inches and have prominent ear tufts. The female is larger than the male, but the male has a deeper voice. They live in woodlands and open fields. They are year-round resident. They nest in abandoned squirrel and hawk nests. They eat terrestrial vertebrates and even skunks.
