Horned Lark

Scientific: Eremophila alpestris
Norwegian: Fjellerke

Small, 6-8 inches long-bodied with two small horns of feathers toward the back of head. They are seen in mowed meadows, cemeteries, and athletic fields. They reside here year round and nest is a 3.5 inch diameter shallow cup in a hollow on the ground. They forage for seeds and insects.
