Indigo Bunting
Scientific: Passerina cyanea
Norwegian: Indigospurv
The Indigo Bunting is 5 inches and lives near weeds and brushy areas. They are summer residents and nest in shrubs. They eat insects and seeds. They are similar to an Eastern Bluebird, but the Eastern Bluebird has a thin black bill and rusty orange breast. The mating male is an indigo blue and the female is a soft brown.
