Mallard

The Mallard is 20-26 inches and is found in ponds, lakes, sloughs, and open prairies. Their nest is concealed and found typically on dry ground lined with down from the female’s breast. The Mallard resides here year round and feeds on underwater plants by tipping forward, rarely diving.
