Ring-necked Pheasant
Scientific: Phasianus colchicus
Norwegian: Fasan
The Ring-necked Pheasant is 19-27 inches with a long tail. They are seen in grain-growing farmlands and pastures close to water, almost never in the woods. They reside here year round and build their nests in a hollowed ground spot. They eat mainly insects, seeds, or stray grain that falls on ground.
