Scarlet Tanager

The male Scarlet Tanager is a scarlet red color. The Scarlet Tanager has a rounded tummy and is 6.5-7.5 inches in length. They are seen in deciduous and coniferous woods at the high points of the trees. They reside here in summer and/or during migration. Their nests are usually in Oak trees and it is possible to see eggs from the ground through the flimsy bottom. They eat insects and fruit.
