Yellow Warbler
Scientific: Dendroica petechia
Norwegian: Gulparula
The Yellow Warbler is 4-7 inches and lives on the edges of
marshes, leafy bogs, and orchards. They migrate and only live around
here during the summer. They nest low in trees and eat mainly
insects. There are over 50 different warblers and several have been
seen on the Norwegian Ridge Birding and Nature Trails. Both the male
and female are yellow with light brownish/gray wings, but the male
is brighter and has the chestnut streaks on his chest. They are also
known for their large black eyes and thin black beak.
